Fractional Director of
Payments Operations & Product Implementation
A senior, hands-on payments operator to drive merchant operations, SaaS implementation, product coordination and internal accountability. You will personally execute important work while building the systems a larger team can run later.
The role
This is not a passive advisory position. Kadima needs someone who will do the work themselves — chase the missing bank statement, reproduce the bug, run the onboarding call — and then turn each of those into a process that does not depend on them personally.
The role works directly with Kadima’s founder across Kadima Payments and its growing FinTech and SaaS initiatives, including RapidPayLink and DoorStax.
Payments and merchant operations
- Own the merchant journey from qualified opportunity through application, underwriting, approval, activation and initial processing.
- Coordinate document collection and resolve processor or underwriting requests.
- Maintain accurate visibility into application status, ownership, blockers and next actions.
- Assist with merchant issues involving pricing, funding, gateways, chargebacks, risk and processing.
- Improve merchant onboarding, sales handoffs and activation procedures.
Product implementation and customer success
- Lead onboarding and implementation for merchants and SaaS customers.
- Manage beta programs, customer training, feedback calls and account-health reviews.
- Separate customer feedback into bugs, feature requests and account-specific support issues.
- Build repeatable onboarding processes, checklists, help materials and FAQs.
- Monitor adoption and prevent customers from disappearing after signup.
Product and technical coordination
- Test web and mobile workflows from the customer’s perspective.
- Reproduce issues and create actionable engineering tickets with evidence and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate work through development, preview deployment, testing and approval.
- Understand APIs, webhooks, hosted payment fields, user permissions and payment workflows.
- Be technically fluent without needing to be a software developer.
Operational leadership
- Maintain CRM pipelines, project trackers and operating dashboards.
- Ensure every legitimate opportunity has an owner, next action and deadline.
- Convert meetings into decisions, assignments and completed deliverables.
- Build SOPs and eliminate key-person dependency.
- Produce concise weekly reporting covering results, deadlines, blockers and decisions.
- Escalate problems before they become emergencies.
Partner management
- Coordinate with processors, gateways, POS providers, technology vendors and strategic partners.
- Document pricing, economics, implementation requirements and contractual limitations.
- Determine whether potential relationships add meaningful capabilities.
- Represent Kadima professionally in merchant and partner conversations.
What we’re looking for
- At least three years of direct experience in payments, merchant services, FinTech or payment-enabled SaaS; five or more years is preferred.
- Direct experience with merchant onboarding, underwriting, implementation or payment operations.
- Working knowledge of merchant acquiring, KYC/KYB, gateways, transaction processing, risk and funding.
- Experience coordinating operations, product, engineering, sales and customer-success initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and deliver without constant supervision.
- Comfort working inside an entrepreneurial company where processes are still being created.
No college degree is required. We care about what you have actually run.
What the first 90 days look like
- Merchant applications and legitimate opportunities are accurately tracked.
- Every opportunity has an owner, next action and deadline.
- Merchant onboarding follows a documented process.
- Product issues are consistently reproduced, documented and driven toward resolution.
- DoorStax beta and launch-readiness initiatives move against defined milestones.
- Leadership receives concise, decision-focused reporting.
- Important projects move forward without constant founder intervention.
